Support Services
ALC Healthcare’s Support Services are designed to help clients stay safe, comfortable, and independent at home and in the community. These services can stand alone or be added to skilled, specialty, pediatric, or geriatric care plans to reduce risk, improve daily function, and support family caregivers.
1

2
Transportation Assistance
Transportation Services provide safe, reliable support for clients who need help getting to essential appointments and errands. We focus on punctuality, clear communication, and safe transitions from home to vehicle to destination.
Transportation support may include:
-
Rides to medical appointments, therapy, dialysis, and follow-up visits
-
Pharmacy pick-ups and prescription drop-offs
-
Grocery and essential shopping trips
-
Community outings that support quality of life
-
Assistance entering/exiting the vehicle and navigating to check-in areas
-
Escort support (as appropriate) to help clients stay oriented and safe
ALC Healthcare will only accept contracts with prior county authorizations! We coordinate around the client’s schedule and care needs, and we encourage families to share appointment details, mobility considerations, and any special instructions in advance. Our goal is to reduce missed appointments, lower caregiver stress, and keep clients connected to the services they need.
3
Patient Transfers
Patient Transfer support helps clients move safely from one position or location to another—reducing fall risk, preventing strain or injury, and protecting dignity. Transfers are performed using safe body mechanics and, when appropriate, approved assistive devices (such as gait belts, walkers, wheelchairs, or transfer boards) based on the care plan.
Common transfer support includes:
-
Bed-to-chair and chair-to-bed transfers
-
Toilet and shower transfers
-
Wheelchair transfers (including positioning and brake/footrest safety)
-
Sit-to-stand assistance and controlled lowering
-
Repositioning in bed to support comfort and skin integrity
-
Standby assist for clients who need supervision for balance and safety
Our team follows client-specific instructions and communicates changes in mobility, pain, dizziness, or weakness to the appropriate care contact. We prioritize calm, respectful assistance—helping clients participate as much as possible to maintain strength and independence.

To begin Support Services, we recommend completing an intake form so we can understand your needs, schedule preferences, and any mobility or safety considerations. Once we review your information, we’ll confirm service availability and help you build a care plan that fits your daily life.
